Huzurnagar bypoll: 34 villages identified as sensitive
Suryapet: Superintendent of Police Baskaran stated that staff of 14 SST (static surveillance team) setup in the district in view of Huzurnagar bypoll have been working round-the-clock and checking the vehicles impartially.
On Friday, he welcomed election special expenditure observer BR Balkrishnan at police guest house located at Shanthi Nagar in Suryapet.
Later speaking to the media, the SP informed that department has identified 34 villages as sensitive and precautionary measures have been taken to avoid any incidents during the election.
Police officials have been creating awareness among the people about the election code of conduct through flag marches, cordon and search operations and cultural programmes by artists team of police department.
As many as 119 licenced pistols were deposited in the district in view of Huzurnagar bypoll and as many as 477 trouble mongers were bind over before Tahsildars as a safety measure, he informed. Over Rs 1.12 crore and 515 liters of liquor was seized during the checking at SST check posts in the district so far. Election code violation cases were booked against eight members so far, he added.
