Mellacheruvu (Huzurnagar): Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy called upon people to support Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate Shanampudi Saidi Reddy in Huzurnagar bypoll and pave way for the development of the constituency.

On Wednesday, along with Saidi Reddy, the Minister took part in the poll campaign at Hemla thanda of Mellacheruvu mandal in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency.

Addressing the gathering, Jagadish said several welfare schemes have been implemented during the TRS rule, and added that Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy has done nothing for the development of Huzurnagar and its people in the capacity of an MLA and also an MP in the last 20 years.

He described Uttam a power monger and added that Congress leaders were making baseless comments against Saidi Reddy and the TRS government to grab the attention of voters.

"Uttam family will benefit if Congress wins the Huzurnagar bypoll, whereas constituency will develop if TRS wins the election," the Minister underlined, adding that by-election was the right time to drive away the inefficient Congress and its leaders from the constituency.

Local legislators Bollam Mallaiah Yadav, Gadari Kishore Kumar and Shankar Naik, Kodad former MLA Chander Rao, local Sarpanch Biksham Naik and villagers participated in the campaign.

Meanwhile, the State Khadi Board chairman Mohammed Yusuf along with party minority leaders carried out house-to-house campaign at Seetharam Nagar of Huzurnagar and explained to the voters on the need to support TRS in Huzurnagar bypoll.

Similarly, Saidi Reddy's wife, Rajitha, along with party leaders met local people of Huzurnagar personally and urged them to vote for her husband and help him develop the constituency in all aspects with the support of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

In a separate meeting held at Huzurnagar, women wing of CPI urged its cadre to support TRS in Huzurnagar bypoll as the party openly extending support to the ruling party.
