HWF to focus on social work in the North East

Nampally: With its ambitious plan to bring about transformation on the social landscape particularly in the north and north east India, the Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) will be increasing coordination with other NGOs.

As part of Vision 2026 their primary focus area of activities in these parts is alleviating poverty, lawlessness, illiteracy and diseases.

Speaking to media persons at Media Plus auditorium, Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui, General Secretary HWF (TS & AP) said that the Foundation which started in 2006 was a national NGO, based at New Delhi was an umbrella organization whose affiliates work in the field of education, health care, livelihood, disaster management, aids & alms to poor & needy and benefitting from the govt welfare schemes.

Apart from the above, it provides legal support to the needy. "This organisation visualises a 10-year programme in 2006 with a vision document namely 'vision 2016'. After completion of this period, it declared another programme namely 'vision 2026'.

On which it is striving to achieve the targets," he said.

Mohammed Abdul Majeed, Director HWF (TS & AP), said that the focus area of Foundation's activities is north & north east India which is also home of poverty, lawlessness, illiteracy & diseases.

He said that the HWF was striving for establishment of CBSE syllabus school, support to community school, financial support to orphan students, multispecialty hospital, primary health care, mobile healthcare, diagnostics centres, drinking water tube wells & open wells, construction of community centres, yearly food kits distribution to needy people, support to students studying in central universities, clothing aid to poor & needy per annum, interest free microfinance and support to homeless people (refuges & IDPS) in north India.

"The HWF is having its branch in Telangana when it is designing reliable social profits medals in field of teacher training institution, interest free microfinance, primary health care unit, legal aid & support centre, slum development, govt welfare implement schemes.

The leaders were hopeful of generating funds as part of Vision 2026.

"This city of sympathy & generous hearted will support the people of north& north-east poor & needy through HWF," they exuded confidence.
