13 cylinders exploded in Secunderabad's Bapuji Nagar

Hyderabad: As many as 13 cylinders exploded in Secunderabad's Bapuji Nagar area today afternoon under Bowenpally police station limits. The incident triggered panic among the residents after a thick smoke emanated the fire. However, no casualties have been reported.

Out of the 33 huts, around 20 huts of migrant workers were reduced to ashes while 13 huts were partially burnt. Also, three autos were gutted in the fire which spread like a wildfire after a cylinder exploded in a hut. It is believed that the fire erupted with a cylinder blast in a hut and later spread to several huts leading to the explosion of all cylinders.

The firefighters have been informed who rushed to the spot and launched efforts to put out the fire. Two fire workers were injured while struggling to douse the fire. Most of the migrant workers residing in the huts are learned to have gone to their native places.

The police registered a case and are investigating.
