Hyderabad: 30 children rescued from seed company
Hyderabad: Police on Saturday rescued 30 minor children from a seed company in Medchal along with women and child development officials.
According to police, the owner of the company K. Prasad brought the children from different States and made them work in his godown.
The Women and Child Development officials who received a tip off from a credible source alerted the Medhcal police who then raided the godown and rescued the children.
M. Praveen Kumar, Inspector of Police Medchal said, "The children were trafficked from different states and were made to work under exploitative conditions."
"The traffickers lured the parents of the children by paying them an amount of Rs. 50,000 for an year and brought them to this godown to work."
He further added, "The enquiries with children revealed that they were kept in harsh conditions and were denied proper food. The children rescued were sent to shelter homes and a case has been booked against the owner of the company while he is still at large."
