Hyderabad: 4 from Bihar held for theft in December, jewellery worth `1.5 crore recovered
Hyderabad: Banjara Hills police on Wednesday solved the sensational burglary case in its limits and arrested four notorious interstate members of a gang from Bihar and seized Rs 1.5 crore worth gold and diamond ornaments from their possession.
They arrested the accused Ramashish Mukhiya , Bhagwat Mukhiya (32), Bhola Mukhiya (35), Harishchandra Mukhiya (35) and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused Rahul Mukhiya and Pitamber Mandal.
According to City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, the gang is led by Bhagwat Mukhiya (32), a cook, who gets his men employed through agency in the residences of very high profile persons as a cook or domestic help and further recruits his accomplices in and around the house and later commits theft of very high value jewellery and other expensive items. Police Commissioner said, they had received a complaint on December 9, 2019 from the complainant stating that on December 8 when the complainant along with his family members went to attend a marriage at Shamshabad and on returning to their house on December 9 noticed that jewellery and cash were missing.
When they searched for their cook he was also missing along with his belongings. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under section 381 IPC and took up the investigation. Further, it was found that the accused were involved in many cases in various States all over India. While committing the offences the accused used to carry deadly weapons and attack the inmates and owners with the weapons if they resist them while doing the offence.
