Hyderabad: 4 nabbed in two different cases of ganja smuggling
Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team (SOT) of Rachakonda police in a joint operation with Saroornagar police and Abdullahpurmet police on Tuesday nabbed four persons in two different incidents for smuggling ganja.
In the first incident, the SOT apprehended three persons namely, Ramavath Pandu, Bhaskar and Prakash.
The cops of SOT received tip-off that the three persons were transporting ganja in an XUV to Mumbai. Upon receiving information, special teams were formed and they apprehended the accused and seized 300 kgs ganja worth of Rs 34 lakhs from their possession and also cash of Rs. 1, 49,000 was recovered from them.
In the second case, the sleuths of SOT upon receiving credible information, apprehended one Venkanna, who was transporting the contraband substance from agency areas of Vizag to Karnataka via Hyderabad. A total of 150 kgs of ganja worth of Rs. 20 lakhs and cash of Rs. 2,500 was recovered from his possession.
All the arrested were booked under section 20(II) (B) of NDPS Act and were remanded to judicial custody.
