Hyderabad: 5K Run promotes financial literacy

Necklace Road: The Reserve Bank of India organised a 5K Run for Financial Literacy 2020 at Necklace Road on Sunday. Subrata Das, Regional Director of RBI for AP and Telangana, and Sundaram Shankar, General Manager, RBI, Hyderabad, flagged off the run.

Speaking on the occasion, Subrata Das said that the 5K Run was part of Reserve Bank's initiative to spread financial awareness among common people and was a curtain raiser to the upcoming "Financial Literacy week 2020" to be organised during February 10-15, 2020 with the theme of 'Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)' and how they benefit themselves by being a part of the formal banking system. Subrata Das highlighted some of the precautions to be taken for while carrying out digital/online banking transactions. He also clarified that all Rs 10 coins in circulation were legal tender and urged people to use coins in their day-to-day transactions.
