Hyderabad: 90 Percent positive patients in two Ayush hospitals are asymptomatic
Hyderabad: Covid-19 infected patients with mild symptoms are being advised home isolation as per revised discharged guidelines by the Union Health Ministry.
However, those who cannot stay in home isolation due to various reasons like small houses, or rented houses, presence of children and elders at home, opposition from neighbours etc. are preferring government isolation facilities.
The Telangana Health department has tasked this responsibiity to two Ayush hospitals-Government Ayurvedic hospital in Erragadda and Nature Cure hospital in Begumpet.
At present, Nature Cure has 115 such cases and Ayurvedic Hospital has 105 cases. Around 80 patients who were discharged from Gandhi Hospital on June 8 after reporting three consective days without any fever were also sent to these two hospitals as they said they don't have proper facilities at home for home isolation.
Apart from Gandhi, these two hospitals have mild infected cases referred from King Koti and some others who directly came to the hospital after authorities gave nod to stay here in wake of their mild symptoms.
The Health department has deputed over ten allopathic doctors including pediatricians, nursing staff and technicians to monitor health condition of the patients here.
They are supported by Ayush doctors and health staff working in these two hospitals. It is learnt these patients have recovered and more than 90 percent are now asymptomatic and do not have any symptoms.
However, Ayush authorities here are waiting for clarity to discharge these patients majority of whom have recovered and doing well now.
"After testing positive, patients are recovering in seven to fourteen days time and are being sent home. Patients from Gandhi had come on June 8 and we will take a call on discharging of these patients after getting a communication from higher authorities," said an official.
The patients in these two hospitals are being provided accommodation and food free of cost by the government itself. Directions were given to Ayush authorities to shift any patient who develops breathing problems to Gandhi, but till now it was not necessitated.
