Hyderabad airport is world third largest fastest growing airport

The Airports Council International (ACI) has featured GMR Hyderabad international airport in its World Airport Traffic report as the third-largest fastest growing airport in the world in terms of passenger growth.

The report said that the airport is handling more than 25 million passengers in a year and registered a passenger growth of 21.9 per cent in 2018 over the corresponding year.

Angela Gittens, ACI World Director-General said that "Country's move towards liberalised aviation market and the nation's strengthening economic fundamentals have helped it become one of the fastest-growing markets with its traffic growing rapidly in a short time."

With 29 passenger airlines connecting 69 destinations both domestic and international, the airport on an average handles close to 60,000 passengers every day.
