Hyderabad: Akhila Priya named main accused in kidnap case
Former minister of Andhra Pradesh Akhila Priya was named main accused a day after the kidnap case of three people who are the relatives of Chief Minister's PA.
It was mentioned in the remand report that Akhila Priya's henchmen thrashed the victims at a farmhouse in the city outskirts and released them after taking their signatures on some documents.
"The victims stated the kidnappers blindfolded them and bound them while kidnapping and they were kept in captivity in the farmhouse. The accused hit them with sticks and forced them to sign documents," the remand report said. The police said that the victims told them that they overheard the kidnappers conversation with Akhila Priya, Bhargava Ram and Subba Reddy.
Akhila Priya was arrested by the police at her house at Lodha Apartments in Kukatpally.
Bowenpally inspector K Ravi Kumar said that Akhila Priya confessed to committing the offence along with her husband and Subba Reddy to extort money as they are not satisfied with the previous settlement of Hafeezpet land dispute.
Meanwhile, Akhila Priya's bail petition was adjourned to Friday by a local court. The police are planning to seek Akhila Priya's custody who was lodged at Chanchalguda jail.
