Hyderabad: All set for Maha Shivaratri festivities at Keesaragutta

Keesara: Keesaragutta Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy temple in Medchal district is getting prepared for Maha Shivaratri Bhrahmotsavalu. As the temple is very near to Hyderabad, lakhs of people visit on the day. Officials made all arrangements seeking the safety of the devotees. The Bhrahmotsavam will be held from February 19 to February 24. Officials are expecting nearly five lakh people at the time.

District Collector Venkateswarulu is constantly overseeing arrangements and holding review meetings with different committees of the festival. Collector ordered every committee to complete the works by Tuesday. CC cameras are arranged from outer ring road to Keesara for the safety of the people. He checked the traffic, safety and sanitation department works in the area.

The Collector ordered government and private school managements to conduct sports competitions and also instructed the youth committees to arrange food for the players. He said that Meat and alcohol should be banned in the temple premises. He instructed officials to arrange medical camps in regular intervals.

Speaking about the arrangements, Venkateswarulu said, "All arrangement have been done keeping devotees' safety and comfort in mind. As many as 82 CC cameras are arranged around the temple including at arch. 1500 Panchayat staff will be always in duty in three shifts. One ACP rank officer, nine CI's, 27 SI's and 1050 Policemen will be in Bandobasth on all six days."

"Rs 200, Rs 400 and VVIP queue lines are set up. Two 'Divya Darshan' queues are also arranged for people's convenience. Water packets, butter milk packets and dates will be provided for the devotees in queue lines. 25 priests from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and 50 temple priests will offer prayers on all six days," informed temple in-charge EO Sudhakar Reddy. He also instructed devotees to use dustbins arranged for throwing plastic and polythene.
