Hyderabad: Allocate 10,000 crore for BC welfare: Krishnaiah

Saifabad: A team of BC leaders led by R Krishnaiah met Telangana BC welfare minister Gangula Kamalakar and submitted a memorandum urging the state government to allocate Rs 10,000 crore for BC welfare.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Krishnaiah demanded the state government to allocate Rs 5,000 crore to BC Corporation to provide subsidy loans to those applicants whose applications were kept pending.

About 270 college hostels were being run in rental buildings and stressed on the need for building new hostel buildings. He also demanded hike in the mess charges from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 for college students and from Rs 1,100 to 1,500 to tenth standard students. Krishnaih said that the minister had promise to increase budget allocations this year and release funds for subsidy loans.

BC leaders Gujja Krishna, Janardhan, Rajender, Mahesh Yadav, Pagilla Satish, Aravinda Swamy, Chandrashekhar and others were among those who met the minister.
