Hyderabad: Asst professor ends life after killing son

Hyderabad: An assistant professor identified as Nagalla Bhargaviand (34) allegedly killed her son Varenya (10) and later committed suicide on Friday night at her residence in Narsingi.

According to police, the woman was an assistant professor at B R Engineering College in Joginpally and was suffering from health issues after delivering her second child. Since then she has been visiting hospital regularly, but her health was not improving.

When she was alone with her son at their home she killed her son by suffocating him and hanged herself. Her husband, Satish an IT engineer who arrived at their residence in the evening was shocked to hell upon witnessing the hanging body of his wife and dead body of their son.

He then lodged a police complaint. Based on the police complaint, the Narsingi police started investigation and in the preliminary investigations it was revealed that she was suffering from health issue.

No suicide note was found from the scene of offence. The victim hailed from Tenali and Satish was from Guntur, they both were married 10 years ago and were blessed with two children.

Luckily the second child was not with the mother when the incident happened, said the police.

The cops have registered a case of suspicious death and the body has been sent to postmortem. The case will progress further once the autopsy report is declared.
