Hyderabad: Awareness drive by BJP on CAA from today in Kukatpally

Update: 2020-02-10 22:01 IST

Kukatpally: The Medchal-Malkajgiri district unit of BJP is taking up a house-to-house awareness campaign on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) from February 11 to 29.

Announcing this on Monday, party president Madhavaram Kantha Rao said in a statement that the campaign was being taken up in view of the attempts by the Congress, Left, Majlis and TRS parties to 'rouse people's passions with a view to disrupting law and orders and seeking to divide people, unable to face Prime Minister Narendra Modi politically.'

Rao clarified that CCA was not against any Indian and also any religion, including Muslim, but was intended for the welfare of refugees and providing citizenship to those unsettled from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

He said the party would not discriminate against anyone on the basis of religion. During the campaign party activists would visit houses to enlighten people on CCA while informing them that the Opposition parties were 'misleading' them.
