Hyderabad: Awareness spread on safe water in Kukatpally
Kukatpally: The Safe Water Network organisation on Tuesday organised an awareness programme on ailments caused by drinking contaminated water and the need for consuming safe water and contamination caused by chemicals/bacteria besides the benefits of using such water.
Balajinagar Corporator Pannala Kavya Reddy was among those who attended the event, which was conducted to mark the first anniversary of the network's water purification unit set up near Dhanalakshmi centre on Road No.2 in Balajinagar division, and also to celebrate the International Women's Day on March 8. Addressing the gathering, she underlined the importance of consuming safe water for human body to maintain good health. Reddy, while stating that pure water can be stored. She laid stress on the possibility of ailments like diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid, blood stools occurring if contaminated water is used.
Among those present on the occasion were water network staff Shirish, Balesh Goud, Srikanth, Ward mentor Srilata, party activists Devi, Balasaraswati, Raju and Chinna.
