Hyderabad: BJP hits back, lodges complaint against Arekapudi Gandhi
Hyderabad: BJP Telangana leaders on Thursday came down heavily calling out TRS MLA Arekapudi Gandhi's alleged statements to support Muslims from Pakistan and from any other country coming and staying in Telangana.
Speaking to The Hans India, BJP State official spokesperson N V Subhash said that the TRS Gandhi's romance with illegally infiltrated Muslims from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, while speaking against CAA has crossed all the limits. His statements are not only objectionable and violation of the constitution.
He said that it was unfortunate that the TRS MLA, being an elected representative while addressing a group of Muslims at his residence had said that he will give full protection to Muslims, either they come from Pakistan or any other places and living in Telangana.
Subhash said that it shameful on the part of Arekapudi to provoke Muslims by asking them to chase away BJP workers or any others, who visit their houses, to collect data. "How can an elected MLA talk against the constitution? The CAA is a law passed by the Indian parliament," he reminded.
The BJP leader said that Telangana people would teach a lesson to TRS for its appeasement policy towards Muslims. He said TRS MLA's alleged speech tantamount's to disturb communal harmony, as, the Gandhi had also assured that the TRS government would provide protection to those Muslims illegally infiltrated into the country and living in Telangana.
He said that the BJP leaders approached Kukatpally police station and lodged a complaint against TRS Gandhi for his provocative speech, he added.
