Hyderabad: BJP leader booked for rape, harassment of woman
Hyderabad: RC Puram police on Monday registered a rape, threatening and blackmailing case against the BJP leader and advocate M Raghunandan Rao.
According to police, they received a complaint from a woman victim stating that she had filed a harassment case against her husband in 2003 and maintenance case in 2007 through the advocate Raghunandan Rao of Patancheru.
After some days, taking the advantage of her case in 2007, the advocate called her to his office at Patancheru and gave coffee by mixing some substance. When she felt unconscious and by taking the advantage, he raped her. She also alleged that he threatened her to publish photos taken in compromising position on the social media.
The woman further alleged that he was threatening her with dire consequences of life and blackmailing her on which she approached SHRC to seek redressal.
The complainant reportedly lodged a complaint with the Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar to take action against him.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case of rape, threatening and blackmailing and took up investigation.
