Hyderabad: Borabanda to get 2 community halls by May end
Borabanda: Two new community halls are lined up to facilitate the residents of Borabanda. At an estimated cost of Rs 37.25 lakh the two multi-purpose community halls are being constructed and are scheduled to be completed by end of May.
The community halls would be equipped with basic electricity, proper illumination, drinking water, sufficient parking facility and could accommodate 500 - 800 people at a time in the community halls with an area of 150 to 200 square yards.
"The objective is to facilitate weaker sections a place to meet, celebrate and organise events. In general, the city needs some space for communities to come together and discuss on the issues. The proposed community halls will meet the needs of different communities for celebrations, birthdays and other social events," said Mohmmed Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor, GHMC & Corporator Borabanda.
"As the objective is to facilitate place for weaker communities, we won't be charging rent for using the community halls but a minimum maintenance charges have to be paid which would be around Rs 500 - 1000," he added.
Constructions of three community halls were proposed this year, two community halls are under constructions one is at Peddama Nagar with a budget of Rs 17.25 lakh and other is at site-2 Borabanda with a budget of Rs 20 lakh, almost 90 % of the construction has been completed and would be inaugurated in May, he said.
