Hyderabad: Even as it is speedily relaxing restrictions as the lockdown phase is drawing to a close by May 31, the government has urged locals to minimise the time that they spend outside.

With a view to helping people avoid going outside for essentials from groceries to even electronics and apartments, a city-based start-up 'Mynyfy' has been enhancing the pleasure of shopping by helping the citizens limit their exposure to the virus.

Mynyfy is an enterprise application platform founded by Kiran Vaka, Vikram Yedavelli, Krishna C Pavuluri and Naveen Vedala in the December, 2019 while the app was started in February this year.

Speaking to The Hans India, Kiran Vaka, one of the founders of 'Mynyfy' said, "This is a platform where users can upload their shopping lists, along with their location to source quotes from various sellers. The app then evaluates the list, compares prices, checks availability, and throws up suggestions of shops where the items can be purchased offline."

The app eliminates the need for people to go out leading to breaking of social-distancing norms in order to buy essentials from several stores as they could not find it all in one place. The order becomes visible to local sellers listed on the platform, who can inform of their price and availability of items. Once decided, the user can pick their order up from the store.

This is an advantage for both buyers and sellers as it brings bulk demand for the merchant, while buyers get their products at a discounted price. The retailers do not have to put up the catalogue of their entire range of products. They just need to respond to the order created by users nearby, stating the availability of the items and their pricing. As of now, there are more than 500 sellers across the country who have registered on the app. Almost, 90 per cent of the listed sellers are from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

"Though sellers have been registered, we could not market it across the country due to the lockdown. Most of the sellers on the app right are from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The start-up does not charge sellers commissions or take any part of the revenue that they generate on the application. Instead, the revenue model is based on points," adds Kiran.
