Hyderabad: CMO staffer tests positive for corona
Hyderabad: The Chief Minister's Office located in Metro Rail Bhavan in Secunderabad has been closed as one of the employees working there tested corona positive.
As part of shifting of the State Secretariat to the BRK Bhavan last year, the temporary CMO office was moved to Metro Rail Bhavan. State Special Advisor Rajiv Sharma and CMO Special Secretaries Narsinga Rao, A Bhupal Reddy and others discharge their duties from here.
Sources said that the infected employee has been working as Personal Secretary (PS) to one of the top officials in the office. He got infected with the virus from his son who had recently returned to Hyderabad from Mumbai where he is pursuing his education.
For two days, the CMO employee was suffering from fever and tested positive after undergoing the required medical tests. One of the top CMO official was also asked to undergo corona test and he has been put under home quarantine.
Samples of nearly 30 employees working in the CMO have been collected. All of them have been asked to work from home.Instructions have been issued to all officials not to visit the CMO in Metro Rail Bhavan.
It is learnt that good number of people working in this office were in the category of senior citizens. Sanitisation of the entire building is being done.
The advisor to the state government and former chief secretary Rajiv Sharma will be functioning from the office of the Pollution Control Board.
