Hyderabad: Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao tests positive for coronavirus
Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao has tested positive for coronavirus. Rao was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad a few days ago after he fell sick and tested positive later. It is learned that the doctors are treating him with extreme care as Rao is in his seventies.
His family members and primary contacts were traced and put under quarantine. Their reports are yet to be awaited.
Earlier this week, Telangana congress party leader Gudur Narayanareddy tested positive for the virus. Three MLAs from the TRS party -- Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy (Jangaon), Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy (Nizamabad rural) and Ganesh Gupta (Nizamabad urban) were also tested positive for coronavirus.
MLA Bajireddy's wife, MLA Yadagiri's wife, cook and driver, OSD of minister Eatala Rajender, PA of Harish Rao, driver of Bonthu Rammohan, a gunman of MLA Raja Singh have tested positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the state on Saturday reported 546 coronavirus positive cases and five fatalities. With the new cases, the total number of positive cases touched 7072 and the total fatalities jumped to 203. With the recovery of 154 patients, the number of patients discharged went up to 3,506. Currently, there are 3,363 active cases.
