Hyderabad: Consumer forum adjourns for a month
Khairthabad: The Telangana State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission adjourned the court hearings for a month as a preventive measure in the view of the exigencies prevailing due to spread of COVID-19. Advocates have been urged not to visit the courtroom. Advocates who argue the most urgent matter, accompanied by the complainant will be allowed to enter the court.
"COVID-19 virus which has been declared as pandemic by World Health Organization and also following the advisories of Central and State governments, the president of Consumer Forum Khairatabad instructed to adjourn the matters listed before the Forum from March 17 to April 21. All other district consumer forums have been also instructed the same," K Gopi Krishna, advocate, Consumer Forum, Khairthabad.
Precautionary measures of COVID-19 virus have been taken up by the apex court, National commission and the High Court of the Telangana. Out of these cases, if there is any urgency of the matter, those matters will be heard on every Monday and Thursday.
Advocates and the complainants or parties of any case filed in consumer forum are informed not to visit the forum unless their presence is inevitable/required. During this period Consumer forum has been instructed by the National commission not to pass any adverse orders.
Consumer Forum further instructed to assure that the offices of the district forum would remain open on every working day during the working hours and the filing of the fresh matters will continue as usual and the presiding officers should be available during the office hours.
