Hyderabad: Cop saves man from committing suicide
Hyderabad: A police constable from Saifabad police station on Wednesday saved the life of a person from committing suicide at his residence in AC Guards.
According to police, the person had an argument with his wife after which he hit his head with a hard object and bolted himself in a room threatening to commit suicide. The wife reacted to the threats of her husband and immediately dialed the police station of Saifabad.
The Saifabad police patrol car reached the residence and the on duty constable P Srinivas entered the house, but the husband who was threatening to commit suicide became more aggressive upon noticing the cops and did not allow the cops to enter the house. However the constable broke the door and saved the person from committing suicide, said the police.
P Srinivas noted, "Initially I tried to pacify the person to not commit suicide from outside the door as it was locked. But the person was not willing to listen to my words. So I forcefully entered the room by breaking the door. If there would have been a delay of a few minutes the person would have died." The efforts of the cop were appreciated by the top brass of the police department.
