Hyderabad: Cops book cases against MIM & BJP leaders

Moghalpura: Following the direction from a court, the Moghalpura police have registered cases against former MIM legislator from Byculla, Mumbai, Waris Pathan, AIMIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi and BJP Leader Delhi, Kapil Mishra on Friday, for alleged hate speeches in February.

On March 6, the Hyderabad VIII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate asked the Moghalpura police to book the leaders under sections 295-A, 117, 153, 153-A, 120-B of IPC following a petition from Balakrishan Rao Namdhari, the SC/ST cell chairman of AIMIM (Inquilab) party.

Balakrishan Rao had approached the court after taking up the matter with the city police on February 27. In his complaint Rao had alleged that the former MLA from Byculla, Waris Pathan delivered hate speech against Hindu community, under the instruction from the party chief, while former MLA, Kapil Mishra from Delhi was responsible for 'instigation of violence'.

On the directions of the court, Moghalpura police booked cases and Sub-Inspector of Police K Nagaraju took up the investigation.
