Hyderabad: Coronavirus panic lead to deserted market
Hyderabad: There is the fear of life for everyone of any strata in society. Whispering the prevalence of coronavirus and its effect on humans species. Due to this effect, all most all the Rythu Bazar in the city seem gloomy as earlier we could hear the vendors shouting loud to attract the customer but now it is calm. Due to the fear of spreading the virus almost 20-40 percent drop down in the footfall of the customer.
Especially markets like Bowenpally yard market, Gudimalkapur market, Erragadda Rythu Bazar, Alwal Rythu Bazar, Mehdipatnam Rythu Bazar, RK Puram Rythu Bazar in average around 2000 customer visited the markets but now it has reduced to 500 per day due to the fear of spreading of the virus.
As per the instruction form, the state government all the vegetable markets have initiated different protective measures to prevent the spread of the virus. All the vendors have been made aware of preventive steps to be taken, including hand hygiene and other measures. Regularly the market areas are been cleaned with soap and detergents and also placed a preventive measures board.
TN Srinivas, Chairman of Bowenpally Market Yard said," Due the fear people have stopped visiting the market and also due to this reason the vendors are earning less compared to before. We are trying to take preventive measures and with the help of public automated mike system we are spreading the awareness."
"As before in weekends the market used to be flooded by people now there is a decrease, as people in fear have stopped visiting the market. As per the instruction, we have started taking protective measures as in the washbasin we have kept hand wash and also in the market premises we have hung preventive measures board", M Ravindra Kumar, secretary, Gudimalkapur market.
"As due to the panic people have stopped coming to market and if it continues for a long then it would badly affect living of vendor We have advised our vendor to wash their hand at least after every 2 to 4 hours," said Ramesh, estate officer, Erragadda Rythu Bazar.
Ramu, a vendor at the Monda market in a very distressed voice said," There was a time when I used to earn around Rs 3000 in a day but now barely get to earn around Rs 1200 in a day."
