Hyderabad: Coronavirus tests @ Rs 2200 in private hospitals in Telangana, check details here

The Telangana government has given its nod to hold coronavirus tests in the private hospitals and fixed the rate at Rs 2,200.

Health minister Eatala Rajender said that the tests will be conducted on the basis of ICMR guidelines and tests will not be held on those with no symptoms. However, people who tested positive for coronavirus and has no symptoms should remain in home isolation, the minister said.

The minister continued to say that Rs 4,000 will be collected from a coronavirus patient per day. For the treatment in ICU without a ventilator, the rate is fixed at Rs 7,500 and with a ventilator at Rs 9,000 per day. People who are in ICU and on ventilator support could also be charged extra for the anti-viral drug. The anti-viral injections are priced at Rs 50,000, Eatala said. He also asked the authorities to upload the details of the tests on the web portal.

He asserted that there is no kind of situation in Hyderabad as that of Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The Telangana government is conducting tests on 7,500 people every day. And those who can afford the prices can go to private hospitals, the minister said.
