Required equipment, N95 masks, consultations offered under the package

Hyderabad: With Covid cases on the rise and people with mild symptoms are being advised home isolation instead of admitting to any hospital, private healthcare providers are coming up with innovative quarantine packages under which "Home care would be extended through virtual consultation". This package is priced at around Rs 20,000 per person for 15 days.

The kit, including digital oximeter, digital thermometer, spirometer, N95 masks, sanitizers, waste disposal bags and gloves would also be given to the individual availing this home care treatment. Complete guidance regarding home isolation, care and disinfection would be given as per standard guidelines.

There will be daily virtual monitoring of vitals, oxygen saturation, etc. Also alternate day video consultations will be provided by the physician with medication reconciliation. Two dietician video consultations will also be included. Two sessions of virtual physiotherapy classes will also be held for the individual wherein focus will be on breathing, mobility and movements of the body. In case the patient's condition changes and he or she needs to be shifted to a hospital, it will also be done by arranging an ambulance.

Dr VV Ramanaprasad, a senior pulmonologist from the city, said people who prefer home isolation and want their health condition to be monitored on a daily basis can avail the home care package. Instead of rushing to a hospital and spending huge money, people with mild positive cases can get their health assessed regularly during this isolation period under this package.

Dr Ramanaprasad said the price being offered was reasonable as hospitals are providing equipment like oximeter, thermometer, spirometer, sanitisers, N95 masks, gloves, etc to the individual under this package, he pointed out.
