Hyderabad: CPM launches campaign against NRC, NPR & CAA in Patancheru

Patancheru: Sangareddy district CPI(M) Secretariat member Narsimha Reddy asserted on Wednesday that the government employees need not answer 'unrelated' questions with regard to the National Population Register (NPR) in the name of Census.

He stated this while moving house-to-house in the town distributing pamphlets on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) and explaining to the residents how Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were "uttering falsehood on these laws. They are confusing people after bringing forward the CAA.

Reddy claimed that entries of controversial persons would be made during the Census operations if people don't give proper answers to the questions posed by volunteers on NPR or if they are unable to show documents they would be dubbed as not Indian nationals. He criticised the Centre's proposal to send such persons to detention camps/centres.

The CPI(M) leader contended that the BJP leaders' 'conspiracy' was to usher in one community country. He alleged that these leaders wanted to change the constitution written by Dr B R Ambedkatr and introduce Hindu dharma instead.

Reddy said the party would take up house-to-house campaign on March 23 on the dangers of CAA, NPR and NRC in Beeramguda, Madhuranagar, Nandanapuri colonies to mark Bhagat Singh's jayanti. He appealed to people to participate in protest programmes. Party leaders George, srinivas, suresh kumar accompanied reddy during the campaign.
