Hyderabad: Crop details must for Agriculture growth planning
Keesara: The Additional District Collector (ADC) of Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Wednesday conducted an inspection in Yadgarpally village, in Keesara mandal, for collecting details of all crops in the selected TRAS villages. He created awareness among farmers present there on the support price and crop protection methods, after introducing the Chief Planning Officer, DistrictAgriculture Officer, the District Horticulture Officer, among others, who accompanied him.
The ADC explained to farmers the reasons for and objective of collecting details of crops. He stated that the crops would be surveyed at the sub-division level and details secured so that a clear estimate of the crop area could be made and the required grain purchase centres opened, besides announcing improved support price and appropriate policy decisions to benefit farmers could be taken.
Some villagers informed the ADC that the tank bund was in a dilapidated state and required repairs. They apprehended that half of the village would be submerged if the bund breached, while expressing anxiety.
The ADC assured them that he would immediately ask the Irrigation department officials to take remedial measures. He suggested to the accompanying VRO to create awareness among farmers about the proposed survey and the AEO to enlighten/encourage ryots to take up modern crop-raising practices.
Among those present during the inspection were Chief Planning Officer P Soumya, District Agriculture Officer Mary Rekha, Abdul Sattar, District Horticulture Officer, Nagaraju, Tahsildar, mandal-level officials and farmers.
