Hyderabad: Demand for 30% budget allocation for edu sector in Abdullapurmet
Abdullapurmet: Student Federation of India (SFI), Abdullapurmet Committee, organised a round table with students and people's associations on Tuesday, demanding 30 per cent funds in the state budget towards education sector. SFI Rangareddy secretary Shankar and former secretary E Narasimha criticised government for weakening the education system.
They questioned how the sector would develop without sufficient funds allocated to it. They demanded funds for pending scholarships and fee reimbursements. They also demanded filling up of 24,000 teacher posts.
PDSU Greater Hyderabad president Riyaz, Handloom Development Federation state president T Yellaiah, people's associations convener A Mahesh, BSP leader Chitram Krishna, SFI Ibrahimpatnam secretary P Jagan, SFI Abdullapurmet mandal president G Shiva Kumar, secretary Kamala Nagender and others were among those present.
