Hyderabad: Demand for teacher posts notification
Saifabad: A team of representatives of Unemployed JAC led by R Krishnaiah, the president of BC Welfare Association, met the special chief secretary (education), Chitra Ramachandran, here on Sunday and submitted a memorandum demanding conduct of TET examination to recruit 40,000 vacant teacher posts in the state.
Speaking to media after the meeting, R Krishnaiah said the team had urged Special CS to strengthen the education system in the state by filling vacant teacher posts. Vacant teacher posts had not been filled up in the last twenty years, he lamented. He demanded filling of 2,000 vacant teacher posts in model schools, 1,500 posts in Kasturi schools and 10,000 PET posts, apart from 40,000 vacant teacher posts in government schools at the earliest to strengthen the education system.
According to the RTE Act, state government needs to issue notification for recruitment of teacher once in every six months, but the state government had not issued a single notification in the last three years, he lamented. Krishnaiah said that the Special CS assured the team that a decision would be taken in this regard after discussing it with the CM and officials concerned.
Among those who met the official include Unemployed JAC chairman Neela Venkatesh, K Narsimha Goud, Vemula Ramakrishna, Chandrashekhar Goud, Ananthaiah, Venkatesh, Srinivas, Bhaskar and others.
