Hyderabad: Development Society for Deaf demands UDID cards for differently abled
Bagh Lingampally: Development Society for Deaf (DSD) state president Vallabhaneni Prasad urged Telangana government to provide unique disability ID cards. He was speaking at the society meeting held here at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Friday.
Later, Prasad told the media that UDID smart cards would help disabled persons avail subsidies easily during their travel in buses and trains. He urged the State government to take necessary measures to collect data related to disabled persons and upload it online.
The differently abled persons could also avail of several central and state government schemes for their welfare using the 'Swavalamban Card', a debit card sized card designed by the central government, he said.
The Secretary of Matrimonial Status Society for Deaf (MSSD). K Venkatesh Goud said that the society would organise the matrimonial event for deaf at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on March 27. He said the programme would be attended by the state home minister Mahmood Ali as chief guest, DSD state president Vallabhaneni Prasad, secretary V Bharathi and others were among those who attended the meeting include MSSD members Mohammad Dastagiri Younus, Mastan Ali and others.
