Hyderabad: Development works will propel TRS towards victory in GHMC polls, asserts KCR
Hyderabad : Chief Minister and TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday expressed confidence of repeating the result of 2016 Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections and winning more than 100 seats this time.
Addressing a meeting of the legislature party at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, he said that all the surveys were in favour of TRS party. TRS has been winning all the elections, including Zilla Parishad, Municipal, Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and TRS party was the only party to protect the interest of the people of Telangana, he said, adding that people would once again bless the party in GHMC elections.
He informed that the government had spent Rs 67,000 crore for development works in city during the last six-and-a-half years. To overcome the traffic problems, flyovers and bridges were built, Basti Dawakhanas were opened for the poor, regularisation of houses was taken up under GO 58 and many such programmes were taken up by the TRS government, said the Chief Minister.
Stating that there were no religious riots in the city in the last six years, he said that during the TRS tenure, Rs 2 lakh crore investments had come to Telangana and Amazon alone had come up with Rs 21,000 crore investment. "People should decide what they want... whether they want religious riots or harmonious Telangana. Whether they want people to live like brothers or kill each other?" said KCR.
The Chief Minister spoke about the welfare and development activities in Telangana and added that the schemes were an inspiration for many States. He said that the government did not heed to the Centre's dictate to privatise 50 per cent routes of TSRTC. "We are saving the organisations like Singareni and RTC.
The TRS is not only striving for Telangana, but also for the country. Both the Congress and BJP are the same and the country needs to get rid of these two parties," said the Chief Minister.
He added that the TRS would play a crucial role in the country's politics. It was the responsibility of TRS to save the country from the narrow-minded forces that are ruling the country.
