Deworming drive begins in Medak

Medak: District Collector Dharma Reddy inaugurated National Deworming Day programme and mass drug administration programme at Telangana Residential School in Medak on Monday.

He said students can concentrate on studies only if they are healthy. He informed that about 60% of people in the district are suffering from anemia because of iron deficiency. "To prevent anemia in students, the government has come up with Anemia Mukth Bharat programme. Iron tablets are being distributed to students through this programme," he said, asking everyone to have balanced diet that includes green leafy vegetables and fruits.

State Medical and Health Additional Director Dr Amar Singh, DMHO Venkateshwara Rao, officials Rama Prabha, Sumitra, the school Principal Swaroopa Rani and others were present.
