Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president K Laxman on Thursday urged Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to instruct the government to repeal the order of dismissal of the RTC employees which is against the constitution and spirit of democracy.

A delegation of BJP leaders led by president K Laxman met Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and informed her about the RTC strike and the government's decision to dismiss the 48,000 odd employees.

Later talking to media, Laxman said that the Governor responded positively to their demand of intervention in the RTC issue. He alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to hand over the properties of RTC to private persons. The demands of the RTC workers are not new, even KCR had raised these demands earlier, said Laxman.

The BJP leader urged the Governor to direct the government to hold talks with the employees of the Corporation. They wanted the Governor to direct the government to commence discussions with employees unions and all stake-holders for early resolution of the issue, instruct the government to fulfil the legitimate demands of the employees forthwith, not to lease out or alienate precious RTC properties to private parties, pay salaries of September to RTC employees immediately, release total dues of Rs 2,000 crore to RTC, not to stop medical services to RTC employees, and not to take any policy decisions without following the due process as per the statute.
