Hyderabad: Doctors suggested to People chronic patients need to take special care

Hyderabad: People with hypertension and diabetes are advised to monitor their blood pressure and sugar levels as the risk of getting infected with covid is high, suggest doctors.

Hypertension, diabetes, kidney disorders, obesity, thyroid come under metabolic disorders and people above 50 are advised to be careful.

In Ayurveda, the treatment starts from the root cause with a proper diet and exercise to maintain the metabolism. It is strongly advised that people maintain a healthy sleep cycle to help beat health risks. Hypertension patients need not do vigorous exercise; but can ensure they stay healthy by doing brisk walking for 30 to 60 minutes each day," said Dr Meeraji Rao, Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Continental Hospitals.

Limit to salt intake to less than 3 grams per day, avoid taking excess coffee, avoid alcohol intake and pain killers, advise the doctors.
