Hyderabad: Till recently the Indian market used to look at China from garments to toys to kites and even Holi colours. But following coronavirus outbreak in that country, China is now looking towards India and more particularly Hyderabad.

It has sought the help of pharma industry here to supply anti-viral drugs for symptomatic treatment relating to flu virus.

At present, there is no specific vaccine or medicine for treatment of coronavirus. People who test positive are given medication to the concerned health problem they are experiencing at that time like high fever or severe cold or cough or sore throat or breathing problems.

Due to positive cases crossing more than one lakh already and many others who tested negative but found to be suffering from Swine Flu or some other respiratory problems, there is a huge requirement of medicines.

Since Hyderabad occupies a major position on India pharma map, China has sent an SOS expressing its intent to import tablets for various ailments relating to the virus.

Some pharma companies have come forward to help the neighbouring country. The companies which are willing to supply the vaccine or medicine have approached the Drug Control Administration for clearance to export medicines and have been given permission accordingly, a key source told The Hans India.

It is well known fact that Indian pharma companies import bulk raw material for manufacturing drugs here, but in this hour of crisis the Indian companies, especially those from Hyderabad are gearing up to go to the rescue of the crisis hit China.
