Hyderabad: Ex-MLA Sanjeev Rao passes away

Hyderabad: Former Vikarabad MLA Sanjeev Rao passed away while undergoing treatment at NIMS on Tuesday. He was brought to the hospital around 7.30 am and died four hours later around 11.30 am. He was a dialysis patient for the last few years.

Sanjeev Rao won on TRS ticket from Vikarabad assembly segment in 2014 elections. He, however, quit the party in 2018 after being denied ticket in 2018 assembly elections.

TRS preferred Dr M Anand for Vikarabad seat forcing the sitting MLA to resign from the party and support the independent candidate Chandrashekar.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed deep shock over the untimely death of Sanjeev Rao.

The CM conveyed his condolences to the members of bereaved family. Council chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy and a few cabinet ministers also expressed their condolences.
