Hyderabad: Fee reimbursement demanded by R Krishnaiah
Saifabad: A team of BC leaders led by R Krishnaiah, president of BC welfare association, met Telangana BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar and held discussions on fee reimbursement and hostel mess dues, which have been pending since last eight months, here at minister's office on Tuesday. The team demanded the state government to release Rs 1,200 crore dues at the earliest.
Speaking to media after the meeting, R Krishnaiah said that students had been facing a lot of inconvenience as the state government had not released fee reimbursement and hostel mess dues since last eight months.
Even those running BC, SC and ST hostels were finding it difficult maintain them and even pay electricity bills due to delay in releasing funds, he said. Krishnaiah said that the minister promised the delegation that the government would release hostel mess bills and cosmetic charges within a week. He said that the minister told him that the CM had given clear instructions to officials to ensure that education of BC, SC and ST students was not affected.
Among those who met the minister were Gujja Krishna, Tanduri Gopinath, G Krishna Kurma, Chandrashekar, Ananthaiah and others.
