Hyderabad: First special train from Secunderabad leaves for Delhi
A special train to Delhi departed from Secunderabad railway station today morning with the general passengers from twin cities boarded the train. This is the first train since the lockdown was announced in the country on March 22.
As per the South Central Railway (SCR), this is the second special train to Delhi as one left to the national capital on Tuesday from Bengaluru at 7.50 am. "Tight security was deployed at the station to prevent the entry of ticket passengers," said an official.
Passengers queued up at the stations from 5.30 itself after the railway authorities asked to reach the stations 90 minutes prior to the boarding time. Meanwhile, a special train departed from New Delhi to Secunderabad on Tuesday. The train will arrive at the Secunderabad railway station between 6 pm and 7 pm.
On Monday, the ministry of railways announced they would run 15 pairs of trains of which one pair connecting Secunderabad to Delhi. The trains would halt at Vijayawada, Warangal, Nagpur, Bhopal, Jhansi and Agra stations in both the directions.
