Hyderabad: Five Information Commissioners assume charge

Hyderabad: Five newly-appointed Information Commissioners took oath and assumed charge on Tuesday.

Chief Information Commissioner Raja Sadaram, Information Commissioner Buddha Murali, Principal Secretary Vikas Raj also took part in the programme held at the office of Telangana State Information Commission.

It may be noted that recently the government appointed five new Information Commissioners including Katta Shekar Reddy, Guguloth Shankar Naik, Syed Khaleelullah, M Narayana Reddy and Dr Mohd Ameer Hussain to the Telangana State Information Commission under Right to Information Act, 2005.

The total strength of the commission increased to seven with the new appointments. The State Information Commissioners would hold office for three years from the date of assuming charge or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
