Hyderabad: Four murders in a day rattle cops, citizens alike

Hyderabad: While the people and police had been happy that the crime rate had gone down in the city during the corona lockdown, they were in for rude shock on Friday when 4 persons were murdered in a single day in different cases.

On Friday night, two persons identified as Shaikh Mohammed and Fayaz were brutally murdered by a gang of 4 persons. The accused persons chased the victims in an SUV and attacked them with knives and rods.

While Shaikh Mohammed succumbed to his injuries on the spot, another victim Fayaz died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

West Zone DCP AR Srinivas said both the victims were notorious rowdysheeters in Golconda area and they were murdered by another gang.

It's being perceived in the preliminary investigations that Ashfaq gang could be behind the murder because Ashfaq and Shaikh Mohammed had rivalry for few years and they both used to threaten each other with dire consequences whenever they came across.

He further added, "based on preliminary investigations three persons were arrested whereas the real mastermind behind the crime is still absconding." The seriousness of the crime was such that it made Commissioner of Police, Anjani Kumar involved solving the case.

The Commissioner visited the spot late night on Friday and instructed the Police department to swing into action immediately and leave no stone unturned to arrest the culprits.

In the second incident on Friday afternoon, one Md. Imran was hacked to death in broad daylight as the culprits stabbed the knife in his chest and fled the scene in Yakurpura. The Yakutpura ACP visited the scene of offence and instructed the officials to solve the matter at the earliest.

In the third incident, one Rahul Agarwal was murdered by his friend Mazhar at Golconda. Both the accused and victim were friends since childhood, however, they had differences over some issue and Mazhar hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Rahul, so on the pretext of consuming alcohol the accused invited the victim to Golconda and smashed his head with boulder. In this case also, the accused is absconding.

The entire Police department has swung into action to arrest the culprits behind all these murders and it's been instructed by the top brass that the city should not witness any such kind of crimes in future.
