Hyderabad: Gandhi Hospital set to begin nCoV testing from tomorrow
Hyderabad: Coronavirus testing for swab samples taken in Fever and Gandhi hospitals is expected to start in Gandhi hospital from Monday (February 3). Trial testing under the guidance of NIV, Pune started already on Friday which will continue for two more days.
Experts from Pune lab are learnt to be satisfied with trials at Gandhi and they are set to give clearance after which sample testing will kickstart here in Hyderabad itself. Doctors stated that they were supplied enough kits and if needed the Centre will be informed about it to send more kits.
Meanwhile, China returned city residents continue to flock Fever and Gandhi hospitals, the government finalised hospitals for treatment of nCoV. On Saturday, in all 12 individuals with travel history to China approached Fever and Gandhi hospitals.
Of them, one person with symptoms was admitted in Fever hospital, Nallakunta. Samples of seven others, who had a travel history to Wuhan city, where the first case was witnessed, was also taken but they were not admitted in the Fever Hospital. Doctors advised them to stay indoors at home until the reports are out.
Samples taken of two persons on Friday came out negative, according to Superintendent Dr K Shankar. Meanwhile, four individuals with travel history to China approached Gandhi doctors on Saturday. As their health condition was found to be normal, they were counselled on staying in isolation at home for the next couple of weeks.
Their house addresses were taken and notified to the health department so that teams from ISDP (Integrated Surveillance Disease Programme) will monitor their condition on day-to-day basis, doctors said.
It may be noted that Centre had airlifted 324 passengers from Wuhan in an Air India flight and they landed in New Delhi in early hours of Saturday. Around 50 of them are found to be from the two Telugu States.
