Hyderabad: Hyderabad is among the four cities which were added to the UNESCO creative cities network.
Of 66 cities worldwide were added, only Hyderabad in gastronomy category and Mumbai in film category got into the list from India. A total of 12 cities from India applied for it and eight applications were submitted within deadline and in all formats. Based on presentation before UNESCO India, four cities were selected to be nominated from India. They are Hyderabad, Mumbai, Srinagar and Lucknow.
A total of seven categories were open and cities with unique history and culture in that domain were taken.
Glad to announce that Hyderabad is selected as @UNESCO CREATIVE CITY in Gastronomy category, on the occasion of World Cities Day today. It's among the 2 cities from India in list of 66 cities, other being Mumbai in Film category.
