GHMC chief requested everyone to follow precautions

Hyderabad: With no respite in sight from Covid-19 pandemic and the number positive cases increasing day by day, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar appealed to the denizens of the city be alert. He requested everyone to follow precautions.

The Commissioner, GHMC D S Lokesh Kumar asked vulnerable age groups (below 10 and above 60) to avoid going outside. While emphasising that face masks are the first line of defence against COVID-19, he asked people to ensure that mouth and nose are covered with masks and maintain a distance of at least 6 ft with others when they venture outside for purchasing essentials.

At workspace, he asked the management to provide ensure physical distancing is maintained and facilities like hand wash and sanitizers are provided. The citizens are requested to avoid unnecessary travel. In case it is unavoidable, they shall ensure all safety measures-use face masks, frequent hand wash, use of sanitizer, safe physical distance etc.,

In case of any Flu or Influenza like symptoms such as Cough, Sore throat, running nose, fever, difficulty in breathing, body pains and headache, please report to the nearest Government health facility and seek the required health services without any delay.

People with morbidities like Hypertension, Diabetes, Cardiac illness, Chronic Kidney disease, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and any other chronic illness are requested to stay indoors and avoid any kind of travel.

Meanwhile, the GHMC Control room (Help Line No: 040-21111111) received 339 calls on Wednesday. Out of the 339 calls ,330 were from containment zones requesting for food. A total of 16,890 food packets were delivered by Annapurna Mobile vehicles accordingly. Two calls were pertaining to suspected Corona cases and seven calls for Ambulance facility. A total of 32 Ambulances are kept at different locations to attend requests.
