Appreciating GHMC action, residents, nevertheless, pointed out that mere desilting works would not help control mosquito menace in the area. "We have submitted several complaints to GHMC officials, but now they responded after it was published. But the work of desilting would not help control the mosquito menace.

There is a need for spraying insecticide with the help of drones. Moreover, there is no response whatsoever from Entomology wing about the action being taken as part of anti-larvae operation," said Syed Mujeebuddin, a resident of Brindavan Colony.
