Hyderabad: GHMC slaps Rs 5K penalty on Minister Talasani

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) authorities slapped a penalty of Rs 5,000 against Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Saturday for erecting a huge cut-out greeting Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on his birthday.

The cut-out was placed at Necklace Road, which had pictures of Chandrashekar Rao, Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao and also T Srinivas Yadav.

The cut-out had words 'We love KCR' in bold and this was to mark the 66th birthday of Chandrashekar Rao. The party had planned huge celebrations on Rao's birthday on February 17.

However, taking note of the illegal huge cut-out, the GHMC authorities slapped a penalty of Rs 5,000. The authorities said that the cut-out was erected without permission and it was an offence committed under the Section 402, 421 and with 674, 596, 587 of the GHMC Act 1955. The authorities issued challan on Saturday.

The officials said that the illegal layouts and cut-outs are being removed and if they find any unauthorised hoarding then they are penalising the violators.

There are orders from the Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao to take action against violators even if they are from the TRS, said a senior official.
