Hyderabad: Girls outsmart boys in Intermediate exams
Hyderabad: As usual, girls outshined boys in the first and second year Intermediate examination results, which were announced here on Thursday.
The overall pass percentage of the Intermediate second year is 68.86, the highest pass percentage not registered even in the United Andhra Pradesh, according to Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, who released the results.
Of this, girls registered a pass percentage of 75.15 as against the 62.10 percentage secured by boys. Komaram Bheem Asifabad district stood first with 76 per cent, while Medchal secured the second position with 75 per cent in the Intermediate second-year results. Similarly, in the first year, Medchal district stood first with 75 per cent, while Asifabad Komaram Bheem and Ranga Reddy districts bagged the second position with 71 per cent.
Medak district showed the least performance among the 33 districts of the state, scoring only 42 per cent in the second year and 34 per cent in the first year IPE-2020 results.
The subject-wise analysis of the results shows that students of the MPC stream topped the first position with 67.95 per cent, Bi PC students in the second position with 65.32 per cent, Arts stream in the third position with 52.32 per cent and the Commerce stream students stood in the fourth position with a pass percentage of 41.59.
Similarly, in the first year Intermediate, girls outshined boys registering a pass percentage of 67.47 against the boys' percentage of 52. The highlight of the first year results is that while the pass percentage of girls has also shown marginal improvement, the pass percentage of boys has shown a decline.
