Hyderabad: Government flayed for poor allocation to Osmania University

Osmania University: Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) burnt Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's budget speech papers on the premises of Maneru Hostel on Monday.

PDSU OU unit president N Sumanth and general secretary N Jyothi criticised the state government for not giving importance to education sector. "It has sanctioned mere Rs343.58crore to Osmania University even after proposals for Rs 700crore have been sent.

The funds allocated to the university wouldn't be sufficient to pay salaries," they said, adding that it was despicable act on the part of the government for ignoring the university development and educational infrastructure. They demanded amendment to the budget allocations. OU PDSU joint secretary Venkatesh, leaders Ramesh, Venkatesh, Prudhvi, Narahari, Sai Babu, Ravi Tulja, Naresh, Ramesh, Anil Hemanth, Madhu and others were present.
